Gmail is now available for signing up without invitation if you satisfy the following criteria:-
  • You are living in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philipines, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey and the United States.
  • You have a mobile phone
Go to Gmail sign-up, select your country of residency and type in your mobile phone number. Type the encryption code and click "Send Code". Wait for your sms 6-digit code. Mine came in about 15 seconds!

Next, key in your sms 6-digit code sent to you by Google and register away! You'll get an instant Gmail email address with 2.791gb (and counting) worth of space. Gmail used to be available only via invitation from existing Gmail account holders and even so, each account holder has a limited number of invitations available for sending out. When the mobile phone sign-up was first made available, it was confined to users in the United States. Now it has been extended to the countries above and I am glad to note that Malaysia is one of them. Notice that Turkey is the only European country where this facility is available?

What are you waiting for? Get Gmail now!

That's good. Less and less people are using Hotmail and yahoo now :)

Anyway, glad Malaysia is in the list as Malaysians are well known in the spamming arena!
