The Automotive World has always been associated with men, in general. Or at least, over here in most parts of Asia. A quick look at the websites that offer resources, information and advice on automotive matters show that they are run or managed by men. It is thus refreshing indeed to see a web site run by a lady named Jody DeVere called Ask Patty.Com.

According to Ask Patty.Com, women purchase half of the vehicles sold in the United States each year and this contributes to billions of dollars a year in new car purchases. Yet, shopping for and buying a car can be a challenged for women who are first time car buyers or for women who had a bad experience in the past with a car salesman or dealership. I guess this is not just confined to women but men as well. Most first time car buyers are usually bewildered by the choice of cars available and usually get lost with all the terminologies used in the specifications of each car and comparing one to another can be a very daunting experience indeed. Till today, I am still unclear what the words "torque" and "horsepower" means!

Ms Jody DeVere, who is the current president of the Woman's Automotive Association International and who has more than 25 years experience in sales and marketing leadership is here to provide useful automative advice through Ask Patty.Com. Questions can be submitted to AskPatty via email or an interactive blog and Patty will typically reply back to the consumer the very same day. Selected questions and answers will be posted on an interactive blog paneled by women experts for the benefit of all consumer women.
